Do you really think that racism is really as widespread as it’s made out to be?

If you look for something hard enough you will begin to believe you’ve found it. If you look for signs that your car’s going to break down, you’ll start hearing rattles and sqeaks. If you look for signs of a cheating spouse, those telemarketing calls that hang up on your answering machine will take on a sinister quality. See where this is going? If you look for racist meaning behind every word or action, you’ll find it. Even when it’s not really there to be found.

Racism is a smokescreen for the true issue which is Classism. It sucks to be poor, and the wealthy people know that poor people are gonna be angry, it’s inevitable, so they use issues like racism to sick the poor on each other. kinda like a throwing a bone to a bunch of starving dogs, instead of going after the one that is torturing them they go after each other. it’s very cleverly done.

where i am yes. (South Africa)

there is a polite layer of rubbish on top of society. everyone is nice to everyone and we all have non racist policies and such but behind closed doors the prejudices are just as strong as ever. I say this becuase i know that its true from my own experiences with different groups,

this is a bit off topic but i was discussing this with a friend the other day and he said that the upper class race groups will help out the blacks and coloureds only so much that they are out of poverty but not enough to give them a fair chance to reach the same level in society as they hold. I think that is entirely true about South African society.
